New restrictions on NC 12 from Oregon Inlet to Mirlo Beach | News
NCDOT has issued the following restrictions on vehicle traffic along NC12 from Oregon Inlet to Mirlo Beach:
“Any vehicles larger than a 1-ton truck will not be permitted. This is basically a Ford F350 or a Chevrolet/Dodge 3500. Vehicles towing trailers, other than the contractors that are currently operating in that area carrying 2wd vehicles, will not be permitted. The trucks that are permitted to operate with a trailer have been doing so without incident and therefore permitted. These operators are not permitted to load between the checkpoints.”
Citizens need to be advised that if their vehicle is not four wheel drive, they will be turned back from the checkpoint and directed to the ferry docks.
